REGISTRATION

The SoTL Symposium is back this year, but with a twist! Due to the ongoing uncertainty with the Covid-19 pandemic, we are hosting a virtual SoTL Forum from November 11-12, 2021. (We will reconvene for the 10th SoTL Symposium in Banff in November 2022). The theme of this year’s forum is Catalyzing Conversations: Energizing SoTL. We will come together to build, sustain, and energize our SoTL community as we reflect on a unique year and plan for the future. This forum will provide space to engage, explore, and energize SoTL projects in various stages of completion ranging from initial ideas of inquiry to reports on findings.

As conversation and connection are core values of the forum, we have chosen Remo as our online platform to support meaningful interactions. Remo allows for small group conversations and large group presentations in a seamless manner. Check out this video for more. We will be working with Remo to ensure an accessible event.

The Forum will host thirty pitch rooms where participants share their research in progress with the objective of establishing connections with like-minded scholars, receiving feedback, and sparking new ideas for both presenters and attendees.

Additionally, we will host fifteen thematic discussion conversations that explore, critique, and discuss key lines of inquiry emerging within SoTL to catalyze conversations on important and emerging themes such as student as partners, SoTL and Covid, and decolonization practices.

We look forward to meeting and chatting with you in November!

About the Forum

This gathering of teacher/scholars is a practitioner’s conference dedicated to developing teaching and learning research, sharing initial findings, going public with results of completed projects, and building an extended scholarly community. This year, which we consider annual event 9.5, will draw together faculty, students, and administrators interested in the systematic inquiry of teaching and learning. This virtual forum will feature pitch room sessions, themed discussions, opportunities for networking and one keynote presentation.
