Getting to Calgary

By Air:  Located in Calgary’s northeast quadrant, Calgary International Airport (YYC) is served by more than twenty airlines with direct flights to many major national and international cities.

By Car:  Calgary is located in southern Alberta along the Trans Canada Highway (Alberta 1) between Banff and Medicine Hat AB, south of Edmonton on Alberta 2.  From the US, take Interstate 15 (becomes Alberta 4, 3, and 2) north from Sunburst MT. For road conditions in Calgary go to the Alberta Motor Association.

Getting to Banff

By Car:  Banff AB is due west of Calgary AB approximately 130 km (90 minutes) on the Trans Canada Highway (Alberta 1), or due east of Kamloops BC approximately 500 km (6.5 hours) on the Trans Canada Highway (BC 1).  Because the city of Banff is located within Banff National Park, those driving to the Symposium will be required to pay a park fee upon entry. For road conditions in the mountain parks go to the Alberta Motor Association.

By Shuttle:  For those flying to Calgary, not renting a car, and travelling directly to Banff from the Calgary International Airport we have secured a special rate with the Banff Airporter, which offers ten shuttle trips each day.

Let Banff Airporter take care of your transportation needs between Calgary International Airport and Banff. With 12 departures daily wait times will be minimal. Banff Airporter also tracks your flight and will adjust your reservation if you are experiencing any delays. Best of all, you'll be dropped off and picked up right at your hotel of choice in Banff.

Book your shuttle via our conference link to receive a 15% discount on travel. The special rate for delegates is $48.88 one way and $97.72 return, prices include gst. You can also book by calling 1-888-449-2901 ext #1.

Scheduled times are not working with your flight? Contact Banff Sedan: charters@banffairporter.com or call 1-888-449-2901 ext #2.

About the Weather

Banff is all about mountains, wilderness, and changeable weather; it is fairly sheltered and on average in-town winter temperatures range from highs of 1ºC (32ºF) to lows of -8ºC (18ºF). Pleasant, warm Chinook winds often make for mild winters in the region, and both summer and winter weather can be found during a single week. In November, ski resorts will be open but probably making snow. For current conditions go to Environment Canada.
